“Writing is a hard business, but nothing makes you feel better.” – Ernest Hemingway

The tab doesn’t seem to work on here, so my entire experience with this blog will be shadowed by my ridiculous OPWD… Obsessive Perfect Writing Disorder. It’s an awful disease, really. Every piece of work must be an all-inclusive, yet not too wordy, correctly formatted masterpiece. I have to write exactly what I mean, and I’ll spend hours on end surfing the internet for that exact right word. I don’t have nearly enough free time for that, but it’s a time consuming life to live a life consumed by time; therefore, I try not to fret too much.

I’ve decided to start a blog, as you can see, but believe me when I say this is not as easy as it sounded when I first hallucinated about it. The most trying task by far was the name. The name I’d be stuck with for the next however many years I continue sharing my thoughts with you. I shredded through so many words trying to find one to use. I sifted through so many ideas that I questioned whether or not I had began conjuring up my own words, and after that thought rummaged through my mind, I obviously had to dig up Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar.

I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Shakespeare wrote in iambic pentameter, which isย a line of verse with five metrical feet. The hardest part is that each one has to consist of one short syllable followed by one long syllable, so Shakespeare would create his own words and phrases to fit as need be. He also manipulated the stress of words. This writing genius completely innovated the world of literature and drama.

Sorry, had to brag on him at least once on here, I think I’m done now.

Back to the point, as I’m reading I come across a line that never meant anything to me until I needed it to: “Experience is the teacher of all things.” – Julius Caesar

With a soft smile, I went back to work. The only way to succeed at this was to dive in, so I went simple and I went obvious. Taelyn Writes (maybe I should’ve added Obsessively and Constantly? Oh well, it’s too late now). If your mind is boggling at the million ideas of what a 15 year old girl could possibly want to blog about, allow me to ease your worries. This is not a blog like the show Awkward.ย or anything similar to that. I won’t be writing about the boy who never texted me back or the friend who stole my favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow. I prefer to write about the moments I believe I want to cherish forever, so I put them into words, download them into a hard drive, and hide them underneath my bed. Except, now this blog is my bed, and it’s not very well hidden.

Hopefully as I continue through with this, I can develop a schedule. For instance, every Sunday I post. I think that could work well around sports and school. Therefore, it’s decided: Check Taelyn Writesย every Sunday for new under-the-bed pieces of work.
